My name is Joel Friesen. I love helping people with their businesses! I get excited by people that own and run their own business. I love to do nothing more than help business owners express themselves online and sell their product. Let me help you understand how to best take advantage of the web and how to help engage customers and market your products.

My history

I am a graphic artist and web designer. I have been loving my job since 1998.  Trained at the Pacific Design Academy, in Victoria B.C. I was traditionally taught to create illustrations, graphics and layout. I wanted to be an illustrator and mentored under comic book illustrator Ken Steacy. Eventually I understood that my calling was web development, and I have focused solely on that since 2001.

What I do

I focus on web design and web development. I help you organize your message to be best represented online. I create semantic HTML, with WordPress.  This means I make sites that are easy to edit, I make sites that are easy to understand by Google and other search engines and make sure that your customers easily find your site.

I teach

I teach web design at Camosun College, in a course I created called the Web Foundations Certificate Program. I teach adults how to create websites, and how to design successful sites. I also teach clients! I can’t make you a site and not explain how it works. I need to make sure you understand how easy it is to maintain, how easy it is to add content. I’ll even show you how to get on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Linkedin and any other social media network so you can reach the most appropriate audience for your business.
